Foyles to open fifth store in October

4th October 2010

Independent book shop Foyles is to launch its fifth store in London in time for the Christmas season, it has been announced.

The 1,300 sq ft Foyles 'Booktique' will open in the City of London's newest retail hub, One New Change, and offer a bespoke ordering service to customers in the Square Mile and those visiting nearby attractions such as St Paul's Cathedral and the Museum of London.

More than 6,000 titles will be held by the new book shop and customers can also order from those carried at Foyles' flagship Charing Cross Road store, which has a range that is almost 200,000 titles strong. Ordered books will be available for collection from the Booktique on the same day.

Foyles chief executive Sam Husain said the company is 'excited' about bringing its 'friendly and welcoming' service to One New Change, which opens on October 28th.

'As well as a wide range of titles and a bespoke ordering service, customers will be able to ask for advice and recommendations from experienced Foyles staff whether their purchase is for themselves or a gift,' he added.

In May, Foyles was named Bookseller of the Year 2010 at the Bookseller Industry Awards.
