Nassim Taleb: I want my Obama vote back
17th September 2009
A leading academic is so concerned about the current US administration's approach to finance that he has admitted he would like his vote back.
Speaking to Bloomberg, author and academic Nassim Taleb explained that he is concerned about the people appointed to key regulatory and government financial positions.
Mr Taleb is the author of The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable, and singled out the country's national debt as one of his major concerns.
According to the news agency, he said that 'no one has the guts to say let's bite the bullet'.
President Barack Obama has faced falling ratings in recent weeks over his US healthcare system reform proposals.
The debate came to a head this week, with former president Jimmy Carter suggesting that much of the criticism levelled at the president is based on racism.
