Patrick deWitt: Undermajordomo Minor

Thursday 1st October 2015 7pm - 8pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Chargeable Event

Canadian writer Patrick deWitt has won an international army of fans with his highly original, witty, entertaining fiction that, above all, celebrates the joy of a great story well told.

First came Ablutions and the bartender trying to write his way out of life in the seamy aside of Hollywood. Then came The Sisters Brothers, the uproarious, uplifting tale of two cowboys that reads like a cross between Cormac McCarthy and John Kennedy Toole, and which was shortlisted for, among many other awards, the Man Booker Prize.

Patrick's eagerly awaited new novel is Undermajordomo Minor, an adult fairytale about a carefree villager who finds employment at the distant castle of the mysterious Baron Von Aux. After rollicking adventures involving war, romance, theft, revenge, murder, bottomless pits and an adorable puppy, can our hero possibly live happily ever after?

Patrick will be in conversation with journalist & features editor of The Telegraph magazine Jessamy Calkin  about his writing career and will then sign copies of his new novel.
