Ray's Jazz: Yazz Ahmed Quartet (plus support)
Hypnotic Middle Eastern riffs, infectious belly-dancing rhythms and haunting melodies fused with jazz and free improvisation infuse the original compositions of young UK trumpet and flugelhorn player Yazz Ahmed.

The recipient of a fellowship from Birmingham Jazzlines, Ahmed has played with Toshiko Akiyoshi, Rufus Reid, Kenny Wheeler, Radiohead and more, appearing at venues including Ronnie Scott's, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, and on Later... With Jools Holland.
Playing alongside Ahmed will be Ralph Wyld on vibraphone, Dudley Phillips on bass guitar and Will Glaser on drums, and the evening will be kicked of by a special support act.
