Synopsis

Taken by a German soldier one summer day in 1941, these photographs provide a chilling look behind the walls of the Warsaw ghetto. The photographs record the destruction of one of the greatest Jewish communities of all time, one that had been at the forefront of every major development of Jewish life, culture and achievement. The text includes diary excerpts rescued from the ghetto and extracts from the Polish Underground Press.
