Synopsis

An incredible number of fine domestic properties within a ten-mile radius of Wrexham have been lost. These vary from huge countryseats such as Horsley Hall to diminutive timber-framed properties like Plas Gwern or the elegance of Gresford Lodge. Some important houses like Broughton and Emral have been lost - although the Jacobean barrel vaulted ceiling of Emral was rescued by Clough William-Ellis and survives in the town hall at Portmerion. The book includes many of the author's high quality line drawings, together with contemporary photographs and a detailed account of 60 properties and the families who lived in them.
