Synopsis

Paseos en el horizonte estudia el problema semiotico del marco en los relatos fantasticos del escritor argentino Julio Cortazar. En este original trabajo, Jose Sanjines reflexiona sobre los modos de produccion y destruccion de la ilusion de realidad en un grupo de ejemplos ideales, relatos en los que el encanto de lo imaginario coexiste con la operacion critica que hace que la obra de arte tenga como sujeto a si misma. El resultado es una asidua exploracion critico-creativa de los horizontes semioticos que se extienden entre la vida y el arte. Paseos teoricos que abarcan el debate entre el realismo y la metaficcion, la operacion fantastica moderna, la imagen abismal, los procedimientos negativos, la tematizacion de la tecnica, el problema narratologico del acontecimiento, la poetica del lector, y muchas otras expresiones del apasionado rigor cortazariano.

El autor: Jose Sanjines es profesor de literatura latinoamericana y semiotica en Lawrence University. Nacido en La Paz, Bolivia, recibio el doctorado en Syracuse University. Aparte de articulos y monografias sobre las obras de Julio Cortazar, Carlos Fuentes y Mario Vargas Llosa, ha escrito estudios teoricos sobre el cine, la communicacion intermodal y el problema semiotico del marco. Desde 1992 es editor asociado de Point of Contact - Punto de Contacto.
