This thirteenth volume completes the set A Checklist of American Imprints, 1820-1829. An author index, title index, corrections, and sources were published previously. Each entry contains a name and place, with item numbers listed underneath by date. Each name was painstakingly verified. Also included is a geographical index by city and a list of omissions with explanations.

Frances Newton has had varied experience in academic libraries at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and at Wagner College, Staten Island, N.Y. She later was librarian for Charlotte Valley Central School in Davenfort, N.Y.
