Synopsis

This is another in the 'in Ninety Minutes' series, which offers the reader a comprehensive but easily readable and easily digestible text, covering a specific topic in an hour and a half of study. You will need to hang onto your seat for this one - the book takes you on a whirlwind ride through the good, the bad and the ugly aspects of meetings, and encourages you to take a radically reformist approach. It asks when you last attended a great meeting, what are meetings anyway, and why have them. Promoting four steps to meeting anarchy, the author suggests building a 'meeting meter' to analyse the extravagant costs of the average meeting and frighten yourself with the facts of the case. The book asks readers to resolve to change the world of meetings forever, to take control and - yes - be anarchic in approach. It is possible to have great meetings provided that you can recognise the elements of really bad meetings, and propose and activate the appropriate antidotes. Meetings take up amazing amounts of time in the business world. They are a multi-purpose tool that is used by everyone but understood by few.

This book will lift the lid on time and effort wasting, and lead you towards meetings that actually achieve what they are intended to do, with enjoyment and a sense of fulfilment.
