Synopsis

This practical book gives managers an easy-to-use, but highly effective way of analysing their organisations, discovering their strengths and highlighting their weaknesses. The book does not preach management techniques as such, but shows managers how to review their organisation in a structred way to reveal those areas where their attention is required. Chief executives, directors, trustees and senior managers should find it invaluable for getting a more effective grip on the way their organisations operate. The model identifies 55 basic elements, which together form the ten major aspects of every organisation. These are discussed and illustrated with anecdotes and practical examples. Although comprehensive, the model is straightforward to use without the need for a computer and forms a handy reference that can be used for long-term planning and management reviews alike. It offers a coherent approach to analysing and evaluating the organisation as a whole, including individual departments.
