Katherine Redfern has a degree in Fashion and Textiles. After a number of happy years in the fashion industry, a part-time course in Children's Book Illustration lead to her winning First Prize in the 1998 Macmillan Prize for Children's Book Illustration. This life-changing event set her on her current path of writing and illustrating books for children. Katherine lives in South London with her husband, daughter and cat. She spends her spare time painting, sewing and fixing things and her quality time making up bedtime stories. Ali Pye grew up in Herefordshire and has wanted to illustrate books for pretty much as long as she can remember. She studied fashion communication at Central St Martins and, much later, an MA in illustration at Kingston University. She lives in south west London with her husband and two children.
