Colleen McKeown was born in Belfast but moved to England when she was nineteen to study at the Liverpool School of Art. It was here that she began illustrating for children, which led her to complete the Children's Book Illustration Masters at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Colleen's first book Under the Silvery Moon was shortlisted for the "Read it Again" Cambridgeshire Children's Picture Book Award. Little Friend is her second book for Little Tiger Press.
