D Brook is a qualified psychiatric nurse, having trained at St Crispin's Hospital, Northampton some thirty years ago. The author was born and brought up in Northampton, is a Grade 8 cellist (since aged eighteen) and is now fifty-four. She has sung in choirs around Northampton and at Orlingbury Church. D Brook has read all sorts of classical literature, has done house renovations, enjoys gardening and has a love of cats and animals generally.
