Foyles Notes

Bickford-Smith's illustrations are a very special thing, and just like The Fox and the Star before it, The Worm and the Bird turns the ordinary into the magical. The story of a worm longing for freedom and a bird longing for food, it is touching and darkly comic. A lyrical modern fairytale, beautifully cloth-bound and a perfect antidote to those dark winter months.

Isobel, Westfield Stratford

Synopsis

A new, beautifully illustrated picture book from the bestselling author of The Fox and the Star, winner of Waterstones Book of the Year 2015.Deep below the earth, Worm dreams of having more space. As the day goes on, will they both find what they are looking for? From the author of The Fox and the Star, this is a book about searching and hoping, and how the smallest moment can be beautiful.
