Academic Turnarounds: Restoring Vitality to Challenged American Colleges and Universities (Hardback)

Contrary to conventional wisdom, the most effective turnaround leaders are not autocrats making all the tough decisions personally. Turnaround leaders operate decisively, to be sure, but they are also skilled communicators, lead with a forward looking plan and engage all members of the university community in the turnaround drama. This book describes the leadership qualities required at each stage of a turnaround, and provides case studies of successful leadership practice.
