This continuation of the acclaimed guide for 1989 summarizes the number of awards a given book, author, and publisher received during both 1990 and 1991. Covering books written and published in English-speaking countries throughout the world, the authors provide the following information for each award-winning title: Name of award; award background and selection criteria; author; title; brief review; picture of each award-winning book; interest/reading level; name and address of publisher; number of pages; cost; ISBN. The authors also list awards given to individuals for the body of their work and/or for meritorious service to children's adolescent literature during 1990 and 1991. With four appendixes and eight indexes. A subject index is new to this volume.

Betty L. Criscoe (Ph.D., Syracuse) teaches children's literature and reading at the University of Houston/Clear Lake. Her background includes public school teaching and teaching in a teacher-training program. Philip J. Lanasa (Ph.D., Texas A & M) teaches reading, special education, and multicultural education classes at the University of Houston/Clear Lake. He has been a public school teacher, a special education supervisor, and a professor in a teacher training program.
