Ellen Kronowitz has been an elementary and middle school teacher in both urban and rural school districts. All of her advanced degrees are from Teachers College, Columbia University where she taught at the Agnes Russell School, the university demonstration school. She is a Professor Emeritus of Education at CSU, San Bernardino where she taught social studies methods and graduate curriculum and instruction courses and supervised student teachers and interns. She was the liaison to the Hillside-University Demonstration School, a partnership in its twenty-first year. In addition to numerous conference presentations and journal articles, she has authored three books to help beginning teachers through their first years of teaching: Beyond Student Teaching, Your First Year of Teaching and Beyond, 4th edition and her most recent, The Teacher's Guide to Success.
