Der Autor: Alexander Mathaes ist in Stuttgart geboren. Er studierte Germanistik und Amerikanistik an der Universitaet Tuebingen. Seit 1983 lebt er in den Vereinigten Staaten. Er studierte und unterrichtete Deutsch an Universitaeten in Oregon, Texas und Kalifornien. 1990 promovierte er an der Universitaet Texas ueber Matin Walser.
