Synopsis

Dans notre monde actuel, les frontieres deviennent des entites obsoletes. Leur porosite est telle qu'elles ne remplissent plus leur role historique de barriere. De nouveaux concepts tels que ceux de mondialisation, globalisation, multiculturalisme et transnationalisme sont devenus des mots standards pour decrire les changements radicaux que subit notre conception des frontieres nationales. Par consequent, de tels changements entrainent une remise en question de l'univocite de la notion d'identite. L'explosion des frontieres geopolitiques a donne naissance a une multiplicite de nouvelles frontieres : sexuelles, ethniques, religieuses, linguistiques, culturelles, et cetera. L'identite de chacun change en permanence en fonction de nos differentes appartenances. L'identite peut alors etre definie par sa plasticite . Elle devient un concept heterogene en constante evolution.

A travers une etude comparative d'ecrivains francophones tels que Pierre Mertens, Assia Djebar, Charles De Costers, Rejean Ducharme, Addelkebir Khatibi, Jean-Philippe Toussaint, Girolamo Santocono, Saber Assal et Azouz Begag, et les concepts de voyageur professionnel , d' embabelisation de la langue et d' identite diasporique , ce livre analyse la deterritorialisation de l'identite, la remise en question de la hierarchie des polarites centre-peripherie, Soi-Autre, interieur-exterieur, sujet-objet et l'entree de la notion d'identite dans l'espace des polarites multiples.

L'auteur : Jean-Frederic Hennuy est ne a Liege en Belgique. Il a etudie en Belgique, en Louisiane, au Nouveau Mexique et a recu son doctorat en Etudes Francaise et Francophone a l'Universite de Brown. Il enseigne les litteratures et les cultures francaise et francophone au College de Bennington.
