Synopsis

Der Nachkriegsautor Wolfdietrich Schnurre wirkte entscheidend bei der Gruendung der Gruppe 47 mit. Seine Kurzgeschichten und Gedichte werden in Gymnasien und Universitaeten in vielen Laendern als Schultexte diskutiert. Im vorliegenden Buch dienen bisher wenig bekannte biographische Daten des Autors zur Interpretation von Gedichten und geben Hinweise, warum Schnurre sein Thema Anteilnahme und Verstaendnis fuer den Mitmenschen unaufhoerlich literarisch verarbeitet. Dabei wird hervorgehoben, wie Schnurres Konzept von der menschlichen Wuerde und Vergaenglichkeit dazu beitraegt, seine Besorgnis um den erniedrigten und bedraengten Menschen darzustellen.

Die Autorin: Dr. Ilse-Rose Warg fuehrt ihre Studenten in die deutsche Sprache, Literatur und Geschichte ein. Ihr Enthusiasmus im Lehramt wurde an der Pennsylvania State und Central Michigan University durch Ehrungen belohnt. In Deutschland geboren, erwarb sie das Lehrerzeugnis von der Medau-Schule/Bayerische Sportakademie Gruenwald, emigrierte in die USA und wurde amerikanische Staatsbuergerin. Sie erhielt den Magister und Doktor der Philosophie von der Pennsylvania State University. Waehrend ihres Studiums arbeitete sie als Forschungs- und Lehrassistentin und wurde Mitglied der Ehrenverbindungen Delta Phi Alpha und Phi Kappa Phi.
