Synopsis

Ayant comme point de depart la correlation etroite entre les domaines de la subjectivite, de l'historicite et de la litterature, Faber Suae Fortunae se donne pour objectif d'analyser les particularites distinctives du processus de l'autoformation du sujet a partir d'un corpus de textes litteraires de la fin du dix-septieme siecle jusqu'au debut du dix-neuvieme siecle. La lecture des romans de Mme de Lafayette, de Marivaux et de Stendhal revele par consequent des modes distincts de subjectivation, c'est-a-dire differents modes d'etre que les personnages choisissent en vue de faire oeuvre de soi , de se constituer comme sujets ethiques. En suivant cette piste, on pourrait ajouter a la definition existante de la notion du moi selon laquelle le moi designe le sujet en tant qu'il se pense lui-meme , un composant conceptuel supplementaire : le sujet en tant qu'il se forme lui-meme, qu'il s'engage dans une pratique d'autoformation.

L'auteur : Lilia Coropceanu a recu sa maitrise en Litteratures Francaise et Francophone de l'Universite d'Arizona et son doctorat en Litterature Francaise dans le Departement de Francais et Italien de l'Universite d'Emory, ou elle enseigne la langue et la litterature francaises. Elle travaille a present a un projet de recherche qui porte sur la problematique de l'ecriture de soi, dans lequel elle examine le lien entre la lecture, la reflexion et l'ecriture.
