Der Autor: Andreas Solbach hat in Marburg und Berlin, an der Tulane University (New Orleans) und der Harvard University studiert, wo er mit vorliegender Arbeit promovierte. Er ist der Verfasser von Artikeln zu Kafka, Robert Walser, Grimmelshausen, Beer, Gryphius, Fouque, Goethe und Lessing, wie auch eines Buches ueber Rhetorik. Eine Monographie ueber Johann Beer wird in Kuerze veroeffentlicht. Der Verfasser hat an Universitaeten in Berlin und Dortmund unterrichtet, zur Zeit lehrt er an der Freien Universitaet Berlin.
