El autor: Ana Maria Alfaro-Alexander nacio y se educo en Peru. Recibio su B.A. en Letras Hispanicas y Letras Germanicas de Hunter College, CUNY. Obtuvo su doctorado en Literatura Hispanoamericana Contemporanea en The Graduate Center, CUNY. Su tesis, Palermo una generacion a la deriva, gano el Huntington Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation en 1991. Es catedratica auxiliar de espanol en el Departamento de Lenguas Modernas en Castleton State College, Vermont. Ha ensenado en el Departamento de Lenguas Modernas en Castleton State College, Vermont. Ha ensenado en Duke University, Hunter College y Fordham University.
