L'autore: Nativo della Sicilia, Giuseppe Candela ha conseguito il Ph.D. presso la University of Wisconsin-Madison nel 1992. La sua attivita di ricerca e concentrata nei periodi dell'Umanesimo, Rinascimento e Barocco. Attualmente insegna alla Arizona State University a Tempe, Arizona.
