Deborah Wilson Overstreet is associate professor of literacy education in the Department of Elementary Education at the University of Maine at Farmington, where she teaches courses in reading and language arts methods, children's literature, young adult literature, diversity education, and now, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She is the author of Unencumbered by History: The Vietnam Experience in Young Adult Fiction (1998).
