With four women dead and law enforcement officials baffled, the FBI turns to former profiler Drake Winston. Unfortunately, Drake isn't the man he used to be. After the murders of his wife and son, and subsequent trial as their killer, Drake retreats to the Adirondack Mountains to escape the guilt and persecution. Knowing he's the only person who can help, Winston returns to the FBI and reunites with Laura Anthony, the agent he had once mentored. After a fifth woman's body turns up, Drake stumbles on an internet clue that leads him to a small town outside Syracuse, New York. There, he unearths the stories of a young woman found strangled to death, and her obsessed, ex-boyfriend who reportedly died in a car wreck two weeks prior. Drake proves the man is still alive and embarks on a hectic race to stop the murderer before he kills again.

G.S. Hitchcock was born in Auburn, NY in 1972. As a boy, his early love of science left little interest in English. This followed suit through most of his college years, as he received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Inspired by a college buddy who was writing a novel, G.S. took a crack at writing three short stories. Although horribly written, the process began a fascination with storytelling. With getting a real job and beginning adult life on the horizon, G.S. squirreled the stories away in a folder. It wasn't until several years later that his storytelling spark was re-ignited. During the next several years, G.S. dedicated himself to the craft - writing nonstop, reading countless books on plot, pace, scene, structure, and baring his soul to countless critique groups. During this period, G.S. wrote three novels, the last of which was "Chat Room" (formerly "Edit Copy Kill"). G.S. Hitchcock currently resides in the backwoods of Arkansas with his beautiful wife and two wonderful children. By day he is a technical manager for the world's largest food company. At night, he is currently editing his second novel, "Gods of Humanity," a bio-tech thriller that pushes the boundaries of cloning and ethics. It will be available in early 2010.
