Die entzweite Seele der deutsch-juedischen Dichterin, gespalten zwischen Welt und Phantasie, ihre gesellschaftliche Stellung innerhalb Deutschlands und ihr Aufenthalt in den Exillaendern Schweiz und Palaestina zeigen, dass Else Lasker-Schueler sich staendig in einem Exilzustand befand. Diese Arbeit untersucht das einmalige Verhaeltnis der Dichterin zur Umwelt, zur Heimat und zu den Exillaendern, und versucht dazu, den psychischen Zustand der Dichterin in seinen Auswirkungen auf ihr Werk zu deuten. Auch die Exilsituation der Dichterin als Frau gehoert zum Themenkomplex dieser Untersuchung.
