Synopsis

Caroline Mayville, a sixty year old retired schoolteacher, lives a very traditional village life. She tends her garden, walks her dog and volunteers at the local fete. But all of that is about to change. After an encounter with the village's only eligible widower (or seemingly the only available man in the village under 95...) leads her to buy a cottage to renovate, Caroline finds a little more than woodworm at her new residence. She finds Alexis, a spirit who is asking for answers to a 70 year old mystery. What happened to her husband, a Squadron Leader during WWII? Was it desertion as was reported ...or was it something more sinister ...like murder? Amateur sleuths Caroline and granddaughter Emma combine forces to search for the missing airmen - even scouring an old airfield that holds a surprising number of secrets and following a ghost dog. But will they, in the end, find an unlikely outcome which will change Caro's life for ever? Sylvia Pink has created a wonderful new heroine in Caroline Mayville, Secretly Psychic, Detective. You'll eagerly be awaiting the next book in the series - even before you finish this one!
