Synopsis

It is a time of unrest in the BookWorld. Only the diplomatic skills of ace literary detective Thursday Next can avert a devastating genre war. But a week before the peace talks, Thursday vanishes. Has she simply returned home to the RealWorld or is this something more sinister? All is not yet lost. Living at the quiet end of speculative fiction is the written Thursday Next, eager to prove herself worthy of her illustrious namesake. The fictional Thursday is soon hot on the trail of her factual alter-ego, and quickly stumbles upon a plot so fiendish that it threatens the very BookWorld itself.

Customer Reviews

Jasper Fforde is a pure delight. The Thursday Next series got us hooked and we have now read all his work and can recommend them all. This was ordered as a present. As ever, the people, especially Charlotte, in the store were helpful and took time to ensure we were ordering the correct book in the right cover. We will use Foyles as our bookseller of choice in the future.

As funny and original as ever this will delight fans of both Thursday Next and anyone who loves books. Admittedly not the best place to start if you've never read a Next novel before though, or even if you have skipped one of the series. But if you are up to date I can heartedly recommend this - be prepared to laugh out loud if reading whilst commuting.
