Why did I wait so long to read Saga? It is simply wonderful. Earthy, funny, real (alien worlds aside) it's a brilliant story of love across the tracks that a diehard Romeo and Juliet fan like myself can't help but adore. It also looks amazing and each individual is a satisfying chunk of a read.

Brian K Vaughan is back with this mature and controversial comic. At first it might read as another take on Romeo and Juliet with a sci-fi twist, but it goes beyond the love affair between two ex-soldiers, Alana and Marko, of opposing galactic races in a never-ending war. It opens with a childbirth scene with seriously interesting and realistic dialogue which will either make you want to read the whole thing in one go or put it aside altogether.

Saga is a dark and twisted graphic novel with fantastic artwork by Fiona Staples. Best Sci-fi graphic novel I've read in a while. NOT FOR KIDS!
