RUSSIA, Greed & Oil & Independence The background of this story is the attempt by Chechnya to break free and become independent from Russia. This action would jeopardise the ownership of the vast oil-fields within its territory. A PLOT TO KILL THE AMBASSADOR The main plot centres on two petty thieves from Armenia who have been sent to London by The KGB to thwart a plot by the breakaway state of Chechnya. The Chechnyan Ambassador is in London to buy arms and seek recognition for Chechnyan Independence. The Armenians kill the ambassador and his brother. They have been enjoying a lavish lifestyle living it up in a 'Chelsea' penthouse, becoming embroiled with call girls and several dubious characters including 'bent' members of British Intelligence. BODIES IN THE SUITCASE? A remarkable discovery of a 'foul smelling suitcase left in a taxi leads the police to the assassins. This is only the beginning of the murder and mayhem that follows. ASSASSINATION IN PRISON? General Dudayev of Chechnya sends a hitman to deal with the Armenians despite the fact that they are already languishing in prison waiting to stand trial for murder.

Others get caught up in the various nefarious plots and by the end of 1993 six people have disappeared or been murdered. WAR INSIDE THE FORMER USSR President Yeltsin's patience gives out trying to negotiate with the General Dudayev, a key player in this extraordinary but true story, and Russia eventually wages war with the rebels in 1995. The events portrayed in this book are fascinating but true and the author himself was peripherally involved.
