Staff Choice

Driving aimlessly, with nothing better to do that fritter an inheritance, Nashe picks up a hitchhiker, Pozzi, who convinces him that there is a fortune to be won playing poker with a pair of eccentric millionaires. As luck ebbs and flows, the stakes become rather more than they had conceived. A denouement that would leave Kafka twitchy is played out across the second half of a masterpiece too often overshadowed by The New York Trilogy.
