Synopsis

"solid storytelling and clean, gorgeous

artwork will keep readers engrossed and eager for more." - Publishers

Weekly (Starred)"Gillen's penchant

for fast, sharp dialogue and McKelvie and Wilson's razor-lined, intensely

colored visuals keep things popping up to the cliffhanger ending." -

Booklist"the story is

beautifully drawn and populated with characters of color, diverse gender,

and sexual identities, and you have my full undivided attention." --

KirkusEvery ninety years, twelve

gods incarnate as humans. They are loved. They are hated. In two years, they are

dead. The team behind critically thermonuclear floor-fillers Young

Divine, where gods are the ultimate pop stars and pop stars are the ultimate

gods. But remember: just because you're immortal, doesn't mean you're going to

Customer Reviews

For anyone familiar with the creative pairing of Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie, this is a work you need to look at. For everyone not familiar with their style this is as good a place as any to start. The trick in reading their work is to go with the flow and don't take it too seriously. This volume represents a good opening arc. How good or great it will become though will depend on future volumes.

Staff Choice

This is one of my favourite non-superhero comics. Gods reincarnated every 90 years in the bodies of beautiful young people, worshipped with an intensity that's terrifying, dominating the cultural landscape for a brief spectacular moment... then it's over? The art is beautiful and the story hooks you in from the very beginning. No spoilers, but you're going to want to keep reading.
