Recent translations include Therese and Isabelle by Violette Leduc (Salammbo), The Man Who Walked Through Walls by Marcel Ayme (Pushkin), The Earth Turned Upside Down by Jules Verne (Hesperus) and Heloise is Bald by Emilie de Turckheim (Jonathan Cape). She is Senior Editor at And Other Stories press, and lives in London. ---------- Jennifer Higgins is a translator, teacher and linguist. Her research has focused on how literary translation may act as a vehicle for influence and innovation between cultures. She has taught translation to undergraduates at Oxford and Cambridge universities, and Italian to A-level students. Previous translations include Le talisman de la Villette (Strangled in Paris) by Claude Izner, for Gallic Books.
