Los versos de dicho subgenero compuestos en los siglos XVI y XVII tienden a ser devotos, teologicos o misticos. En tiempos mas recientes, la poesia corpuscristica, sin abandonar el matiz religioso, ha llegado a ser una celebracion en el inigualable festival eucaristico. Los autores representados en la coleccion cubren la gama sociologica de pastores a reyes e incluyen algunos gigantes de la poesia del Siglo de Oro espanol. Se suplen bosquejos biograficos y amplia documentacion.

La editora: Elizabeth Wilhelmsen posee un master of Arts y un doctorado en Lenguas y Literaturas Hispanicas de Saint Louis University oMissouri, USA!, y ha cursado tambien estudios de filosofia. Ha ejercido la docencia en la Universidad de Salamanca y en la actualidad es profesora agregada de la University of Nebraska oLincoln, Nebraska, USA!, Realiza trabajos de investigacion sobre la historia de la mistica espanola, la poesia del Siglo de Oro y el pensamiento de Miguel de Cervantes.
