Synopsis

The Last Voyage of the SS Henry Bacon is a story of courage and valour and of self-sacrifice. The final voyage of the Bacon saw the crew rescue and then put the lives of nineteen Norwegian refugees above their own. The Bacon was the last ship to be sunk by the Luftwaffe on the Murmansk run - from Scotland to Murmansk. She fought valiantly against superior forces and downed more German planes than any other liberty ship, and when she finally went down, it was with her proud captain and chief engineer standing at the helm. This is her story.
