Gardening is becoming an increasingly popular pastime, though sometimes it is hard to know which plants are best for the unique environment of your garden. Whether you are looking for a groundcover plant that will thrive in the deepest shade or a specimen tree that will grow and be admired for generations to come, this book will prove to be an invaluable guide. The Illustrated Directory of Trees and Shrubs has been designed to help answer some of the most commonly asked questions about the enormous number of trees available. Each entry includes foliage and flower information, sun or shade requirements, habit, pruning and soil preferences, as well as providing indications of height, spread and a crucial hardiness rating. Full colour illustrations make this book a comprehensive, attractive and, above all, practical guide to trees and shrubs, ideal for all plant lovers.
