Identites, ipseites, alterites ancrees dans l'espace (y inclus le cyberespace) et dans le temps, voici en definitive, des identites culturelles d'hier et d'aujourd'hui que ce volume se propose d'analyser dans une perspective pluridisciplinaire, appelant tout aussi bien a l'anthropologie, a la litterature, a la traduction, bref aux sciences dites humaines, pour essayer d'esquisser une nouvelle definition du concept identitaire.

Professeur titulaire (TU) en langue et litterature francaises a l'Universite de Grenade (Espagne), Mercedes Montoro Araque a soutenu sa these au CRI (Centre de Recherches sur l'Imaginaire) de l'Universite Stendhal Grenoble III. Ses axes de recherche portent actuellement sur l'imaginaire en litterature francaise, sur l'analyse des mythes en litterature comparee (plus particulierement sur les rapports qu'entretiennent litterature et peinture, et sur les passerelles thematiques reliant Moyen Age, Romantisme et Surrealisme), ainsi que sur les approches actuelles en didactique de la litterature au sein de l'EEES. Elle a pubie un livre intitule Representations imaginaires du corps au XXe siecle (2005) et co-edite un ouvrage portant sur la litterature de voyages depuis le Moyen Age jusqu'a nos jours: Nuevos mundos, nuevas palabras: la literatura de viajes (2007). Elle fait partie du comite de redaction de la revue internationale IRIS.
