Synopsis

Genomic research has provided access to a large number of gene products. New approaches to functional genome and proteome analysis using small molecule tools (= chemical genomics) have become essential for modern drug discovery research as well as for basic biomedical research. Interrogating the genome by chemical genomics is a challenging task that requires the discovery of new techniques and their implementation in a robust format. As a relatively new field of research, chemical genomics will rapidly expand in influence. This book presents modern results of the combined research efforts from synthetic organic chemistry and molecular biology for drug discovery.
