Toute l'histoire du dogue depuis l'antiquite a nos jours. Le dogue est la depuis des siecles, voire des millenaires. Deja on retrouve chez des squelettes du neolithique des chiens a museau court, on ne peut pas dire que c'etait deja des dogues, mais une direction etait prise. Dans l'Antiquite, le dogue est la, en Assyrie il accompagne les chasseurs de lions. Il est egalement la chez les Grecs et les Romains. A l'epoque on l'appelle molosse et on precise parfois qu'il vient de la province d'Epire ou bien des Indes. Apres l'Antiquite vient le Moyen Age et le dogue est toujours la, mais il a change de nom, on ne l'appelle plus molosse mais alan. On reconnait deux sortes d'alans, l'alan vautre et l'alan gentil. Il est utilise par les bouchers pour conduire et garder les boeufs et pour la chasse du gros gibier. Jusqu'au 19e siecle, le dogue sera considere comme un chien de boucher, et d'ailleurs on l'appelle quelquefois chien de boucher.
