Die Autorin: Erika Berroth erhielt ihr Staatsexamen von der Eberhard-Karls-Universitaet Tuebingen und ihr Ph.D. von der University of California, Santa Barbara. Stipendien des DAAD, der University of California und der Mellon Foundation unterstuetzten sie in Studium, Forschung und Lehre. Das Hauptinteresse ihrer Forschung und Veroeffentlichungen gilt der kritischen Betrachtung deutschsprachiger Literatur im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert. Sie lehrt deutsche Sprache und Literatur an der Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
