Synopsis

Ce livre sur Sade s'efforce de comprendre le rapport du stereotype au roman. Ce dernier considere comme lieu de subversion de la doxa. La doxa (opinion) est comprise ici en tant que reservoir ou, encore mieux, depotoir de recyclage ideologique d'ou certains discours de pouvoir tirent leur legitimite. Le roman sadien tache de fonder le mal en raison. Cela veut dire aussi et surtout introduire le hasard dans la logique essentiellement de desir du systeme de la nature tel qu'elabore par Sade. Dans cette perspective, le discours du mal sadien se decouvre avant tout strategique. Il s'agit en quelque sorte pour Sade de subvertir le discours rousseauiste, de la placer face a ses contradictions tout en faisant de lui le lieu d'une decharge proprement excrementielle.

L'auteur: Daniel Castillo Durante est professeur au Departement des lettres francaises de l'Universite d'Ottawa. Il est l'auteur d'une nouvelle approche concernant les rapports entre le stereotype et la litterature. L'Academie des lettres du Quebec lui a decerne le prix Victor-Barbeau 1995 pour son livre Du stereotype a la litterature. Son dernier ouvrage Ernesto Sabato. La litterature et les abattoirs de la modernite s'efforce de mettre en lumiere les conditions qui rendent possible l'emergence de la violence dans le cadre de modernite.
