Synopsis

There is a period of time at the end of the Gospel Age described in the book of Revelation as the hour of trial, a time when the whole world will be tested. This hour is characterized by increasing darkness and economic dysfunction. Also during this period, the majority of God's people, the church, having fallen into false doctrine, idolatry, and deception, are described as being dead and lying in the streets being mocked. These are the conditions into which a word from the Lord-a cry at midnight-comes to His people. The Hour of Trial interprets the text according to seven interconnected, parallel visions depicting the Gospel Age. This model not only assures the reader of God's sovereign hand overseeing the building of His church during this difficult time, but also provides a context, a moment in time, for which Jesus Himself tells His bride, "Behold, I am coming quickly."
