Synopsis

In The Mystery and the Passion, Richard examines the churchs turbulent relationship with the theatre and explores and updates the techniques the medieval church used to get its message across. He illuminates the world of Christian theatre today through interviews with the directors of Riding Lights and Saltmine, two leading Christian theatre companies.

Finally, through two new plays a modern mystery and a modern passion he offers a way to use Christian drama effectively in churches everywhere. Full of insightful observations and professional hints and tips, The Mystery and the Passion is essential reading for anyone who wants to present the gospel message in a fresh and immediate way.
