Denise Tomecko, a British subject, spent her childhood in Africa and much of her adult life in Asia, having long resided in Kathmandu, Nepal, in addition to Laos, and her current home, Thailand. She is a devout Buddhist and author of two previous books, on African tribes and the Hindu god, Shiva.
