Synopsis

This is the only book on John Macquarrie to provide a comprehensive and contextual account of his theology. This work also as situate Macquarrie broadly within the tradition of Anglican theology, and, to a more limited extent, Roman Catholic theology. John Macquarrie was born in 1919 in Renfrew Scotland and died in 2007 in Oxford. He was one of the most influential and accomplished Anglican theologians of the twentieth century, although his theology speaks to all Christians. Macquarrie had the ability to convey complex theological thought in accessible language, covering every aspect of systematic theology. Several studies of various aspects of his thought have been published in recent years. This book will be of interest to all systematic theologians with a concern for the twentieth century,as well as to those scholars and students with a particular interest in Anglican Studies or in Macquarrie himself.
