Die Autoren sind gleichfalls Autoren des Lehrbuchs "Thermodynamik kompakt." Bernhard Weigand ist Professor am Institut fur Thermodynamik der Luft- und Raumfahrt der Universitat Stuttgart. Nach seiner Promotion an der TU Darmstadt war er von 1992 bis 1999 bei der ABB Kraftwerke AG in Baden (Schweiz) im Bereich der Gasturbinenentwicklung tatig. Parallel zu seiner Arbeit in der Industrie habilitierte er sich an der TU Darmstadt in 1997 auf dem Gebiet der Thermodynamik. Im April 1999 wechselte er an die Universitat Stuttgart, wo er von 2002-2006 Dekan der Fakultat Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik und Geodasie war. Von 2006-2009 bekleidete er die Position des Prorektors fur Struktur an der Universitat Stuttgart. Jurgen Koehler ist seit 1998 Professor fur Thermodynamik in der Fakultat fur Maschinenbau der Technischen Universitat Braunschweig. In die Zeit seiner davorliegenden 14jahrigen Industrietatigkeit fallt sowohl ein zweijahriger Forschungsaufenthalt am Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, USA, als auch seine Habilitation an der Technischen Universitat Darmstadt auf dem Gebiet der Thermodynamik. Jens von Wolfersdorf ist seit 2001 Professor am Institut fur Thermodynamik der Luft- und Raumfahrt an der Universitat Stuttgart. Nach seiner Promotion 1990 an der Technischen Universitat Dresden war er von 1991 bis 2001 bei ABB Corporate Research und Alstom Technology in Baden-Dattwil (Schweiz) im Bereich Kuhlung von Turbomaschinen tatig.
