About The Author
Gabriel Gbadamosi is an Irish-Nigerian poet, playwright, writer and critic. He was AHRC Creative and Performing Arts Fellow at Goldsmiths University, and the Judith E. Wilson Fellow for creative writing at Cambridge University, as well as Wingate Scholar and Churchill Travelling Fellow for performance research in Africa.
He has lectured in dramaturgy at the University of Istanbul, and been poet in residence on the island of Inishbofin off the coast of Connemara. He has written plays, including: Shango, Hotel Orpheu, and for BBC Radio 3, The Long, Hot Summer of '76, which won the first Richard Imison Award.
Gabriel previously presented Night Waves on BBC Radio 3 and Art Beat on the BBC's World Service. He lives, and grew up, in London.
His debut novel, Vauxhall is a tender and occasionally dark portrait of a child growing up and looking for his place in inner city London. You can read an extract here.
