Emilia Mårtensson (Part of the London Jazz Festival)
|
|
Drawing on the wistful folk songs of her native Sweden, Emilia Mårtensson creates a finely poised blend of jazz and artful alt-pop. Known in part for her collaborative work with the acclaimed Kairos 4tet, Mårtensson appears here with her own project, featuring pianist Barry Green. Singing from her latest album And so it Goes, Mårtensson performs new versions of songs by Paul Simon, Jacques Brel and Esbjörn Svensson, among others. Emilia Mårtensson is playing multiple gigs across the city as part of Festival on the Move, a strand of the London Jazz Festival, exploring the breadth and depth of the capital. Venue: The Café at Foyles Tickets: free, no need to book
