Meyer's The Host set for Hollywood adaptation

Three Hollywood producers intend to buy the rights to science fiction story The Host and turn it into a film, according to trade press reports.
The Host is the first adult novel by the author of the Twilight series Stephenie Meyer, with Variety suggesting it has already attracted attention as a potential big-screen adaptation.
Nick Wechsler and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz will take the lead on the project and are set to commission Andrew Niccol to write the script for the picture.
Speaking to the magazine, Mr Wechsler said: 'We wanted Stephenie to be involved in the adaptation, and have her endorse and be part of the creative decisions.
'"Twilight" has proven she [knows] more about what works than most.'
Niccol was the script writer for The Truman Show and wrote and directed Gattaca, both of which are among Meyer's favourite films.
The filming of the third movie in the Twilight saga is currently underway, with the first film released in cinemas earlier this year.
